Transmission & exhaust

Pay attention when the vehicle feels or sounds different.

Changes in shifting, new vibration, exhaust noise or fumes are worth describing clearly and having inspected.

Transmission concerns

Describe the change, not a guessed diagnosis.

Useful details include delayed or harsh shifting, slipping, hesitation going into gear, vibration, leaks or a warning message. Say when the symptom occurs and whether it has changed over time.

McElroy performs transmission work, but this page does not promise an in-house rebuild or any specific repair before the vehicle is inspected.

Exhaust concerns

Noise, smell and visible damage all matter.

Tell the shop about a new exhaust sound, fumes, rattling, a hanging component, visible damage or a change in how the vehicle runs.

McElroy performs exhaust work. The vehicle and condition determine the appropriate repair; this page does not claim custom fabrication.

If you are not sure the vehicle is safe or drivable, say so.

Do not use the website as an emergency diagnosis. In the service request, explain whether the vehicle starts, moves and can be driven. McElroy may be able to arrange paid local rollback pickup after reviewing the vehicle, location, timing and situation.
